What is meant by a printable CDR?
A printable CDR has a printable surface that can be printed using an inkjet printer such as the Signature printer.

If a CDR is not printable does that mean that you cannot print on it?
No, a good quality regular CDR can be printed on using either a silkscreen process or on a thermal printer.

What is meant by standalone?
We refer to a standalone as a CD/DVD copier that does not require a computer to operate. This means that you can duplicate CDRs without tying up your computer system.

Why do so-called standalone systems often have computer connections on the back?
These connections could have a number of purposes, depending on the model. For example, some units have the ability to import images directly from a computer, thereby saving the operator the step of having to create a master CD first before making copies. These units still do not need the computer to do the duplication. Others may use the connections for diagnostic purposes only, allowing a technician to hook them up to a computer and in order to do an analysis if there is a problem.

How long does it take to copy a CD?
That would depend on three factors:

A simple single 52x drive unit would take about 4 minutes to copy a full 74-minute CDR or about 12 per hour. A unit, such as the PDC IDE Tower, with 7-52x drives, could copy about 100, 80 minute CDR’s in an hour.

What is the advantage of buying a CD Duplicator with a hard drive as opposed to buying a duplicator without a hard drive?
When you are continuously making a copy of the same master, loadng it onto the hard drive enables you to use that image for making copies without reloading the master each time. The hard drive also allows you to make compilations of multiple masters. You can do track extraction which allows you to pick and choose what you want off of your CD and in what order.

On your sales literature it states that your duplicators have no SCMS Copy inhibit. What does this mean?
This means that our CD Duplicators can copy virtually any CD, including some copy protected CDs.

What is CD+G and can your duplicators copy these CDs?
CD+G stands for Compact Disc + Graphics, otherwise known as Karaoke CD’s. With special drives, we can provide other CD Copiers that will copy CD+G too.
